Dhwajarohan means flag-hoisting. On August 10 and 17, we will hoist atop each of the 30 Tonks of Shikharji at Siddhachalam a handmade, especially-designed, vertically-unfurling flag. Prior to that, we will perform ceremonious pujas and abhisheks. For many, these are believed to yield auspicious results. For others, puja and abhishek help them dutifully cleanse their minds and give an unparalleled opportunity to focus and self-purify. Flag hoisting signifies our personal resolve to hold aloft the Jain beliefs that inform and suffuse our life. Picture shows the Tonk of Shri Parsvnath Prabhu after Dhwajarohan on August 12, 2012.
